CNG Vs LPG Car: Car companies are now focusing more on CNG models. Maruti Suzuki has made preparations to bring almost all its models in CNG. After this Hyundai is also bringing CNG models in all its segments. There is a difference of about 70 to 80 thousand rupees in the price of CNG model. Even after this, the demand for CNG model is increasing rapidly in the auto market. The biggest reason for this is the prices of petrol and diesel. The cost of CNG is much lower than that of petrol and diesel and the mileage is very high. This is the reason why people are also getting CNG kits installed in their vehicles. However, many people also drive the car on LPG instead of CNG.

What is the difference between CNG and LPG? What is the difference between these two prices? Which is better between CNG and LPG when it comes to mileage? Does LPG cause any damage to the car? The answers to all these questions are known with the help of experts.

CNG and LPG prices
About 14.2Kg LPG comes in a domestic LPG cylinder. Now the cost of cylinder has gone up to Rs 1000. That is, the price of LPG per kg is around Rs 71. At the same time, if we talk about CNG, then its price ranges from 75 to 90 rupees per kg. Its price varies in different cities of the country. Accordingly, LPG becomes cheaper as compared to CNG. This is the reason why many people use LPG in petrol car to save money.

Car mileage with CNG and LPG

The CNG cylinder used in the car has a capacity of about 10 kg. However, only up to 9 kg of CNG is used in it. This is so that there is no pressure on the cylinder. Sometimes filling more CNG in the cylinder increases the chances of it bursting. How many kilometers the car will run with CNG also depends on the engine of the car. For example, the CNG model of Maruti Celeria gives a mileage of 35Km/Kg. That is, there is 9 kg of CNG in the cylinder, then it can travel 315Km.

However, even from LPG, the mileage of the car remains the same as that of CNG. The only difference is that if you are using LPG cylinder, then with its help you will be able to travel about 490Km. At the same time, the cylinder is of 9Kg, then it can travel 315Km. The cost of CNG per km is around Rs 2.5 and the cost of LPG per km comes to Rs 2.

Is it safe to drive a car with LPG cylinder?
It is not safe to use LPG cylinder in the car. There have been many cases in which the car exploded due to leakage of LPG gas. This is the reason why companies also use CNG instead of LPG. Not only this, the use of LPG also damages the car. Domestic gas cylinders contain sulphur. This pollutes the environment. The extra gas present in the cylinder reduces the life of the vehicle engine by 25 percent. That is, the savings you are making from LPG are damaging the engine of the car. It will be heavy on your pocket in future.

Which is better of the two?
Many experts associated with the auto industry do not consider LPG better for the car. Everyone believes that LPG damages the car. This makes the car all the more likely to catch fire. In contrast, CNG is much better. However, customers should opt for a company fitted CNG car. There is a slight risk in getting the CNG kit installed from outside. The pickup of the car is also better with the company fitted CNG kit. The cost of installing CNG kit from outside ranges from 40 to 50 thousand rupees. Whereas the company Fittage CNG model costs more by about 70 to 80 thousand rupees.
